TICTACTOE

THE ULTIMATE

It's a zero-sum game

TicTacToe is a game that can only be won if you know what you're doing. TicTacToe is impossible if your opponent knows what they're doing. There is no winner in this game. Every game will result in a draw if both players follow the best course of action.

Only a small percentage of the population is familiar with the most effective TicTacToe tactics. No matter how hard you try, you'll never be able to defeat some people (or machines). You can master TicTacToe with this information.

Players

  • Random moves are made by the Novice player.

  • Intermediate players will prevent their opponents from winning..

  • It's common knowledge among seasoned players that playing on specific first squares is a surefire way to lose.

  • In the hands of an expert player, defeat is unavoidable.

  • When comparing these players to one other, you can clearly observe that the better player wins more often than the less-talented one.

Heading 2

Using the Tic Tac Toe game board in a new window, select "Expert" type for each player and then press "New Game" on the game board. You must ensure that each game ends in a tie.

Because they are playing as well as the game can be played, none of the computer players can be defeated. For this, the computer simulates every possible game of TicTacToe in advance, and then decides which moves are effective and which are not. Because there are so few games to choose from, the computer is able to achieve this. You can play the initial move anywhere in nine squares, the second in eight squares and so on until you run out of spaces. In other words, there are only 362,880 different ways to play the game in all. It takes a computer only milliseconds to complete 400,000 games in its memory. In truth, it just needs to play a fraction of that number of games. Only 125,168 games have been played because someone has won the majority of them before all of the squares have been filled in. Many games of TicTacToe are identical since the board may be rotated, hence there are even fewer games to play if a computer realises this. Let it be known that computers win through brutal force.

As a result, how can a human become invincible at the game of Tic Tac Toe? Even if a person were to mentally play out a hundred different scenarios, they would still be unable to act in a timely manner. As a result, humans are able to compensate using their own knowledge and reasoning.

Noob - Inane random play

Almost any game, anyone can beat the "Novice" player. See how simple it is to defeat a Novice player when compared to a human opponent.

Any empty square will do for a newbie. This is a terrible strategy that nearly never succeeds.

Rhetorical play at the intermediate level

Reactionary players are the norm in TicTacToe. They will block their opponents three times in a row, or take any three in a row they can. The alternative is that they play like a beginner and make haphazard decisions. The "Intermediate" computer player employs this style of play.

Methods are the first to go
A lot of games can be won by two intermediate players. Nearly two times as often as the player who goes second, the person who goes first will win. Play two intermediate players against each other and monitor their stats as they play many fresh games to see if this is true.

This makes sense on some level. TicTacToe boards only have nine squares; the first player gets five while the second player gets four.

It's impossible to win against two specialists because the game always ends in a draw. Other than that, the person who goes first wins significantly more than he or she would have if the other player had taken the lead initially.
